Youth Reading Achievement – Student Awards

The Sons of the American Revolution (aka SAR) are committed to Youth Education.

Our goal is for all school children to learn about the founding of our country, the guiding principals and accurate history of the root causes of our quest for freedom and individual freedoms and decision making.

The Sons of the American Revolution (www.sar.org) has created a Reading Certificate Program which recognizes youth who participate in reading patriotic stories and history about the American Revolution and American Civics.

A copy of the Certificate is provided below (missing your child’s full name upon completion):

History is a free pass into what has happened, what works, what doesn’t.  We are committed to share this with our youth.

It is wonderful that our youth can learn about our past.  Hopefully that will help shape their values, appreciate the sacrifice of our forefathers, provide background and influence their outlook on life and future.

To participate, the youth is required to read three books on American Revolution and/or American Civics.  Degree of difficulty would be relative to their age and counsel by their teacher.

They complete an application (attached) “Reading Is Patriotic” and forward it to the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (CCSAR) http://www.cincinnatisar.org

The Cincinnati Chapter Youth Education Committee will review the application, reach out with questions as needed.  Upon acceptance and award, a Certificate will be prepared and sent to the home address of the parents of the child.

Ideally with parent permission we appreciate a photo of the child holding the certificate with the parent providing authorization to share the child’s photo on our website.
