On Saturday December 17th at 12:00 there were more than 3200 celebrations going on all across the country. The Wreaths Across America is a grass roots effort to place ceremonial wreaths on fallen patriots graves.
In Middletown Ohio, there was a service at the Woodside Cemetery for this event.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution was represented by John (Jack) Bredenfoerder. Jack is also the President of the Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Jack was dressed as a period 1st Continental Dragoon.
Major Richard King led the local efforts.
Pine bough wreaths were placed on the graves of fallen veterans to honor their service and for us to show our gratitude for their sacrifices.
Thanks to all those who purchased wreaths for this years event. We are grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support by veterans, citizens and civic groups who participate and contribute to this event. To honor those who sacrificed for us is a great reward.
History of Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum – established in 1891 on 100 acres of beautiful land in the heart of Middletown, OH. This land was selected for its well-drained, porous soils making Woodside Cemetery one of the driest cemeteries in the area. Subsequent purchases of land increased the acreage to 135 and today the cemetery boasts 100 acres of Sections plotted for traditional burials the additional 35 set aside for future burials.
