The Cincinnati Chapter, Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution was organized March 14, 1896, at the office of the Hon. John Fassett Follett, with fifteen members. The following officers were elected at this meeting: President, George Kinsey; 1st Vice President, Prof. Thomas H. Norton; 2nd Vice President, Col. John W. Harper; Secretary, Thomas D. Rhodes; Treasurer, James A. Collins; Board of Managers: Col. Arthur L. Fogg; George Mortimer Roe; Joseph Benson Foraker Jr.; Edward Ritchie; General Henry M. Cist.
Today the Cincinnati Chapter is thriving and is active as ever. Today we have a membership over 230 compatriots and take part in over 90 events a year.
George Kinsey was a prominent steel broker in Cincinnati. James A. Collins was secretary for the Cincinnati Street Railroad Company. Edwards Richie was a Lawyer and Financier. George Mortimer Row was an author and wrote two books about the history of the City of Cincinnati. Col. John W. Harper became the Ohio Society Vice President in 1898 and President in 1899. Have not found any information on Thomas D. Rhodes other than he is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery.
