This was a special event on Sunday April 23, 2023.
We joined here today to rededicate this Memorial that honors the 58 Revolutionary Patriots buried on the hallowed grounds of the Spring Grove Cemetery and in other locations in Hamilton County.
In attendance at this ceremony was the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (CCSAR), combined with representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Children of the American Revolution (CAR).
We welcomed Allen Manning of the Clifty Creek Indiana Chapter of the SAR who participated in the events of the day.
From the DAR was Monica Mohlenkamp, Regent, Cincinnati Chapter NSDAR. Carrie Blum represented the CAR.
The days program included introductions of participants, the Nolan Carson Color Guard formally presenting the Colors.
A number of commemorative wreaths were placed and recognized during the ceremony.
There was a musket salute executed to honor the fallen Patriots.
Participants in the Re-Dedication repeated the following: “We, the members of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution Re- dedicate this marked Memorial to the glory of God and in the recognition of the memory of these honorable Patriots of the American Revolution. On this special day we shall once again give remembrance to all those who risked to safeguard our liberties on and around the field of battle.”

All in all it was a very special day to honor these past Patriots who sacrificed so much to provide us the freedoms we enjoy and were willing to risk their lives to leave us that legacy.
