Come out to Spring Grove Cemetery on Oct 2nd, at 2:00PM to honor one of our own Patriots.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution hereby
announces the Compatriot Grave Marking Ceremony for Nolan Wendell Carson
and extend an invitation for a 2 PM event on October 2nd , 2022 at the Spring
Grove Cemetery.

Location of the event – Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232.  The grave site is located on the west side of Garden LN, Section 100, Lot 278, Space 1.  Follow the white line from the entrance to Section # at the top of the hill about 0.9 miles from the front gate, turn right at Section 99 Post , then the left drive about 70 yards to behind the Hinz Monument & large Holly tree

The Grave of Nolan Wendell Carson in Spring Grove Cemetery

Nolan Wendell Carson was a very active member of the Cincinnati, Ohio and National chapters of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Below is a partial list of his accomplishments to the SAR and the communities we serve:

  • Former SAR President General 1988,
  • President OHSSAR 1970
  • Cincinnati Chapter President 1961.
  • Chancellor General in 1985;
  • Awarding the Robert A Taft II the Silver Good Citizenship
    Medal in 1986;
  • the 1988 Constitution Day talk on “The Miracle of Philadelphia;”

Mr. Carson made the Cincinnati Chapter proud with his commitment, participation and service.

The Ceremony will include members of SAR in uniform; officers in the OHSSAR and NSSAR with the pomp and circumstance that one would have witnessed during the time of our Patriot ancestors.
