Cincinnati SAR Members Welcome New Citizens At Summit Country Day School

More than 60 new Citizens were Naturalized at a Ceremony starting at 10 AM on Friday, October 8th in the Auditorium of the Summit Country Day School, 2161 Grandin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45208. The venue was declared a District Court by Presiding Magistrate Judge Stephanie Bowman. The prospective new citizens were socially distant but united with anticipation of their achieving the goals they’ve desired for a long time after much studying to pass the tests.

After Emily Hiltz, US District Court called the court in session members of Cub Scout Pack 191 & Junior Girl Scout Troop 41086 posted the colors and the children sang The Star Spangled Banner. Judge Bowman then greeted us all and introduced Mr. Richard Wilson, Head of the Summit. As the Names of the 30 Countries where these 60+ new citizens emigrated from were read each person stood. There was more singing by the students and then the Citizenship Ceremony including the Oath by the now new citizens, followed by Pledge of Alligiance.

The Naturalization Certificates were distributed in a social distanced manner with masks being worn by all present. A good many of our new citizens enjoyed a photo option with members of Cincinnati SAR in uniform. Welcomed to the USA in the manner we appreciate!

Thank you for attending this wonderful event and lending an air of historical significance to the day. Many new citizens lined up to meet your delightful representatives, and I know the photos will be a keepsake for life. Our students were also thrilled to see history come to life. Many thanks!
