SAR National website includes training modules for all SAR members and specific training to guide officers in their official duties.
Our local CCSAR Compatriot Jack Bredenfoerder has played a very key role in this development. Steve Kaplan of the Richard Montgomery (Dayton) Chapter is also noted as narrator for some of the sessions I took.
There is a general course which every SAR member should take. It covers areas important to each member including:
- History of SAR, Goals of SAR, Resources of SAR and SAR Opportunities for Service
- Lays out the Organizational Structure of SAR at the Local, State, District and National Level
- Explains all the Programs which are sponsored by SAR and,
- Discusses the medals, awards and insignia of the SAR organization
We encourage all to participate. I must admit, I learned a lot of new information.
