Contests and Scholarships

The Ohio SAR welcomes donations to support the George & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest as well as all the other OHSSAR Youth Programs.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is an exempt organization under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.

Tax deductible donations to support Cincinnati SAR programs will be accepted by the Cincinnati SAR – Treasurer –Michael Blum who can be contacted at: mblum@fuse.net

Dr. Tom & Betty Lawrence American History Teacher Award 

Chairman: George H. Stewart

Each year, the Sons of the American Revolution seek to recognize educators who distinguish themselves in teaching the history of the American Revolution.  This award is eligible for Elementary, Middle and High School teachers.  There is an application process, and the most important part is a written essay of a minimum of 1,000 words discussing the importance of teaching the American Revolution era to our young adults.  The deadline for submission of the documents is December 24th of each year.  Sounds like a wonderful gift to me.  Please encourage any educator you know who carries the knowledge of this critical era of our country, and is passionate about sharing that knowledge with our youth.
