Ross School – American History Teacher Contest Winner – Leah Karwisch

On Thursday May 15th, the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution was invited to participate in the Ross School Board Meeting at 6:00PM.

Our participation was to present multiple American History Teacher awards to Leah Karwisch.

She is an outstanding social studies teacher from Ross Middle School located in Ross, Ohio. Members of the Cincinnati Chapter SAR Youth Outreach Program presented Ms. Karwisch a number of awards at the Ross Local School Board Meeting.

Local – Leah was first awarded our chapter’s Middle School American History Teacher of the Year Award. She represented our Cincinnati chapter in our state’s American History Teacher Contest.

State – she was soon selected as the Ohio SAR State Middle School Teacher of the Year.

National – then she went on to represent the State of Ohio in the National SAR American History Teacher Contest. Even though she did not win the National award, we were informed by the national selection committee, she was a top five finalist.

Well done Leah.

We are very fortunate to have educators like her in our classroom.
