We recently learned of the passing of Jay Doty, Jr..

Jay Walter Doty Jr. November 12, 1936 – March 29, 2025

Jay was born on November 12, 1936 and passed on March 29th, 2025.

His daughter Debbie Large shared with us that Jay W. Doty passed away back in March 2025.  Debbie indicated that Jay was very fond of SAR.

Jay was loyal and continuous member of the Cincinnati Chapter since 3/31/2017.  His patriot ancestor was Jacob Kaufman, Sr., Patriot Service, Pennsylvania.

Jay was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army in Vietnam.  According to the national member database and other records, he received the War Service Medal in 2017.

As noted in his obituary, “his love of country prompted him to proudly join the National Society of Sons of the American Revolution. That interest in family history continued throughout his retirement as he loved learning about his ancestors and his family’s deep roots in the United States.

Our thoughts and prayers for Jay, his family and his friends are forefront in our minds.
