Compatriots,
On Friday August 15th, there will be a Closing Reception for the Miller Flag Exhibit.
Time: – from 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Location: at the Harmon Museum, 105 S Broadway St, Lebanon, OH 45036.
Flag Exhibit – all 70 flags from the Cincinnati Chapter’s Capt. Howard Miller Flag Collection have been on display there since July 1st. This will be the only formal event held in conjunction with the temporary exhibit.
The public, SAR, and DAR members are invited to attend this event. Uniforms and Colonial attire are encouraged but not required. Display of Revolutionary War weapons and artifacts is encouraged. If you have something to set up, please arrive by 6:00 pm on Friday 8/15.
This exhibit will be set up like the Opening Reception for “The Revolutionary War Experience” traveling exhibit at the museum, held back in January 2024.
The SAR and DAR had a very good presence at that event, and it was a great opportunity to engage the public and members of the Warren County Historical Society.
Scott Freeman is trying to arrange a formal presentation of the flag collection as part of the event, which if it occurs may lengthen the time of the event a bit. We will provide more details when they are available.
This is a very good opportunity for SAR and DAR members who have not seen the Miller Flag Collection to check it out.
Statue of Dr. Joseph Warren – if you haven’t seen it, The Harmon Museum is also the site of the Dr. Joseph Warren statue dedicated on June 17th this year on the 250th anniversary of his death at Bunker Hill.
Come out and see this wonderful flag collection and share a bit of history.
Huzzah!
