On Wednesday May 22nd, members of the Sons of the American Revolution were on hand to welcome home Veterans who took the flight to Washington DC to visit their respective memorials to their branch of service.

The approximate time of their return is around 9:00PM and folks were lined up to greet them.

These veterans were joined by a fellow traveler, who could be a relative, a spouse, or a fellow veteran.

This is a memorable day for these veterans and filled with a wide range of emotions including joy, sadness, happiness and pride.

Many age groups and all branches of service participated

The members of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution included Mike Gunn, Gary Duffield, Thomas Geimeier and Cincinnati President Scott Freeman.

We were grateful for Scott’s wife Kathy who took photos and their son Will who also joined this event.

Members of local DAR Chapters and Boy Scout groups also participated

If you have a chance and can attend one of these events, you will be honored to see the eyes of these returning veterans, many wet with pride, sadness and thankful hearts to see all the well wishers who have taken time to welcome them home.
