Help is Needed to Preserve National Rev. War Site

By James D. Schaffer, National Trustee SAR

The Trustees of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution announced their support of the efforts of the Princeton Battlefield Society and the Civil War Trust battlefield preservation group in the purchase of 15 acres of a part of the Revolutionary War Princeton Battlefield from the Institute for Advancing Study in New Jersey. The land will increase the size of the Princeton Battlefield State Park by 16 percent.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (CCSAR) supports this initiative to add this area of the battlefield site into the New Jersey Park system’s trust to protect this important legacy for America.

The Institute and the Civil War Trust have reached an agreement for the sale of this land in order to preserve the site of George Washington’s famous counterattack, but monetary support is urgently needed.

The Civil War Trust is accepting donations.
