Former Cincinnati and Ohio Society President is named the Ohio Society SAR Samuel Hubbard Scott Laureate for 2018

Former Cincinnati and Ohio Society President, Colonel. (Ret.) Donald C. McGraw, Jr. was presented the Samuel Hubbard Scott Laureate Award at the Ohio Society’s annual meeting on Saturday, May 5th in Dublin, Ohio.

Colonel McGraw served with distinction as Cincinnati SAR President (2012, 2013, 2014) and Ohio Society President (2016, 2017). In his military career Colonel McGraw spent 14 months in 2005 and 2006 as the Director of Operations, CJ-3, for Combined Forces Command – Afghanistan and spent the remainder of his commissioned service as the Director for Afghanistan Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He retired from the U.S. Army in July 2009 and is currently the President and General Manager of Planet Products Corporation in Blue Ash, Ohio.

Established by the Ohio Society in 1979 the Samuel Hubbard Scott Laureate is the highest personal recognition bestowed by the Ohio Sons of the American Revolution. Presented at the Ohio Society’s Annual Meeting in the second quarter of the calendar year, the award is presented to the Ohio Society Member who has worked continuously to promote the Ohio Society and its mission of historic, educational and patriotic recognition of the American Revolution. The recipient is chosen by all living Laureates who review the service of selected nominees.
