On Saturday June 8th a Flag Day Celebration was held at the Monroe United Methodist Church in Monroe, OH.

The luncheon was hosted by the Nathaniel Sackett Chapter of the DAR and Butler County DAR Chapters. There were VIP’s and members from several DAR chapters present.
The event sold out in advance when the room’s capacity of 75 people was reached.

Todd Kleismit, Executive Director of the State of Ohio’s America 250 Commission, was the guest speaker. Todd brings a large heavy wooden Ohio America 250th logo to events which was most impressive.

Cincinnati SAR members present in uniform and represented the Cincinnati Chapter of the SAR Color Guard included George Stewart, Bob Bowers, Mike Blum, Clay Crandall, and Jeff Hartman.

Guests of the SAR included Scott Freeman’s wife Kathy and youngest son Will. In addition, Mike Blum’s family attended with his wife and two daughters being DAR members.

Scott Freeman presented an honorary SAR 250th Anniversary Flag and pin to Mr. Kleismi
George Stewart presented a DAR America 250 Flag to Nancy Hutton and the Nathaniel Sackett Chapter of the DAR. The Cincinnati Chapter of the SAR purchased this flag as a gift, as this DAR chapter was relatively new and they did not have one.
