Stumbled across a great article published in http://www.americanthinker.com.
Discusses in abbreviated fashion the crafting of the Declaration of Independence, the Gang of Five, timing, discussions and compromises reached during the creation of the document. The issue of abolition of slavery was proposed by Thomas Jefferson however to obtain full support for the document, this was removed.
