This year the West Virginia Society is hosting the fall meeting for the Central District of the NSSAR. The location is Point Pleasant WV.
Battle Days is the Commemoration and Memorial of the Battle of Point Pleasant October 10, 1774 between the Virginia Militia and Shawnee confederation of tribes under Chief Cornstalk at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park.
On Friday 10/7 there will be: School tours, frontier craft demonstrations and encampment. “History in the Round” with historical reenactors in the evening.
On Saturday 10/8 there will be a: Parade 11am. Re-enactors frontier encampment, crafts, music and food. Colonial Ball in the evening.
On Sunday 10/9, there will be early morning Memorial Services.
In addition, since many people attend both events, the meeting will be held in Point Pleasant, WV in conjunction with the Battle Days Celebration and Memorial Service. The flyer above provides information for registration for both the Central District NSSAR meeting as well as for Battle Days.
If you have already registered for Battle Days and would like to attend the Central District meeting as well, you need only complete and return the Central District portion of the registration form. You are welcome to attend either activity or both.
Even if you are unable to come to the meeting on Saturday, please try to attend the memorial service on Sunday.
