Color Guard – Preparing for Cold Weather – We Can Ease the Pain

Color Guard members who may remember how the cold impacts those hands at winter events.

Recently I stood at a outdoor ceremony in early December here in Ohio.  The weather can be tricky here at that time of year.

This past year, it was rather cold.  Holding a musket in the cold for any period of time can be down right uncomfortable.

After the last event, I vowed to get some of those new fangled wool finger less gloves that some members were recommending.  Trying to shoot a firelock when your fingers will not move is frustrating and painful.

Fingerless Woolen Gloves from Townsends

After a brief search, I found some at Townsend’s and they are reasonable.

Received them today, they fit my larger hands well and are comfortable.  The are wool, so appear to stretch to fit various sized hands.  Bring on some cold weather, I am ready!

Their website is:  www.townsends.com

Their webpage for Mens Gloves is:  https://www.townsends.us/collections/mens-gloves

The Item # for the Natural (off white) is:  FX932 Wool Fingerless Gloves (they also had these in black).

Hoping this solution can ease your pain.

They also have white dress gloves, thick woolen mittens, and a couple of different wool glove options.    Check it out!

Actually, these may may make great gloves for driving those new horseless wagons called automobiles.

Good luck!
