American Revolutionary War – Research Our Past – using Family Search and Rootstech sessions

This week, Family Search is hosting their annual Rootstech program which includes over 1500 sessions “all things genealogy”. Since we are all about our heritage and past, this should be of interest for our members trying to unlock some mysteries about their families.

Below are some classes which have American Revolutionary War connection for our Sons of the American Revolution.  It appears these will be available on Thursday 3/3/2022 at 10:00 EST.

Part 2 – A Call to Arms – Finding Your Ancestor in Pension and Bounty Land Files

Part 3 – A Call to Arms – Adopting the Regiment

Learn how to take the resources from the previous two sessions and better fill in the gaps of your ancestors’ story with the records of his fellow soldiers. For example your ancestor may have not left a pension, however a fellow soldier who he served who did have a pension may add details of a battle they were both present at. Learn how using the “Adopt the Regiment” concept can give you a better overall understanding of your ancestor and his military career during the Revolutionary War.
