William Henry Harrison – Happy Birthday!

On Friday February 9th, 2024, there was a celebration of the birthday of former US President William Henry Harrison.

The program started with a parade starting at the North Bend Ohio Municipal Building and headed up the hill for about a mile to the William Henry Harrison Tomb.

The parade was led by members of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution with help from local Eagle Scouts carrying the flags.

Once to the tomb, the participants assembled on the area outside the tomb where local and state dignitaries joined to speak to the crowd.

There was music provided by the a local school choir.

A number of speakers made remarks to the group, covering the history of William Henry Harrison including his short tenure as US President.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution – Nolan Carson Color Guard performed a musket salute, followed by a ceremonial “mourn arms” while a member of our local armed forces playing taps.

At that point the ceremony ended and the crowd disbursed.

Happy Birthday to William Henry Harrison, his legacy is us remembering the contributions he made to our great country and Ohio.
