Tri-State Honor Flight – Benefit Event – Saturday Nov. 16th – Calling All Veterans!

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution are regular attendees to the return flights of veterans returning from Washington DC where they visit their respective branch of service memorials.

These events include other Kentucky SAR and DAR participants and are really inspiring to see the crowds whom gather to honor and cheer for these veterans.

On Saturday, November 16th, there was a dinner and gala event to thank all that participate in this regular event.  My simple math was that there were around 250 people at this event.

The funds raised are used to offset the costs of the Honor Flight program here in the Tri-State area.

The location was the Little Miami Brewing Company – Event Center in Milford Ohio.  This was a wonderful venue for this event.  The dinner was a buffet catered in by Delightmore.

There was music played by “Floyd & The Walkman”, bourbon tasting.

The keynote speaker was Sergeant Dave Hill, a Vietnam veteran who shared the story of his real life harrowing experience of his rescue by helicopter piloted by Captain Taylor.  Captain Taylor received a Medal of Honor for this historic rescue of four soldiers.

Following the speaker was a Live Auction of a Revolutionary War patriot portrait, bucket raffles and silent auctions.  Plenty of action for all!

As I sat at the table for dinner, I was surrounded by military veterans who shared stories of their deployments and military experiences.  I simply listened, learned and as a person with no military experience, was in awe of what these heroes sacrificed for our country.

This was a wonderful event and I encourage any SAR members, especially those with military service to participate in the welcome home of veterans and invite them to join the 2025 Honor Flight Benefit.
