Traveling to the DC area in June? Mount Vernon event – Saturday June 14th

There is a special event to be hosted at Mount Vernon on Saturday June 14th 2025.

In celebration of the National SAR 250th Commemoration and the birth of the United States Army, there will be a special event at Mount Vernon just outside Washington DC in Virginia.

George Washington will be celebrated and there will be a special grave marking ceremony for George and Martha Washington.

This will occur from 9AM – 12PM noon with the 250th ceremony at 10:00AM, the Grave Marking at 11:00AM and the luncheon at 12:00 noon.

Following the luncheon will be a U.S. Army Museum tour from 2-5PM

A Gala dinner will served from 6-9PM hosted by George Washington.

If you happen to be traveling in the area, this would be a terrific way to take in the Mount Vernon experience.
