Successful ROTC / JROTC Season – SAR Support Of Programs

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the America Revolution are actively involved in supporting Cincinnati area ROTC and JROTC programs.

 

 

Gary Duffield is the Cincinnati Chapter ROTC/JROTC Committee Chairman and should be recognized for organizing and staying in contact with these schools to get them to participate in Cadets competing for SAR awards.

The following was extracted from Mr. Duffield’s most recent Committee Report.

For the season ending May 6th, the Cincinnati Chapter actively participates in:

  •  College level – 5 area colleges including:
    • Miami University – Air Force
    • Miami University – Navy
    • University of Cincinnati – Army
    • University of Cincinnati – Air Force
    • Xavier University – Army
  •  High School –  10 area high schools including:
    • Aiken New Tech Night School – Army
    • Clermont Northeastern High School
    • Diamond Oaks Career Center – Army
    • Edgewood High School – Air Force
    • Hamilton High School -Navy
    • Lebanon High School- Navy
    • Little Miami High School – Air Force
    • Live Oaks Career Center – Army
    • Princeton High School – Navy
    • Hamilton Sea Scouts – Sea Scout

The following Cincinnati Chapter Members participated in the area awards events:

Successes for this year:  Enhance JROTC Essay Competition

Local – Lebanon High School – Cadet Mason Bowers was the Cincinnati Chapters winner of the 2024- 2025 Enhanced JROTC Competition. He was presented a SAR Chapter Enhanced JROTC neck medal, certificate, and a check for $300.

State – in addition, Cadet Mason Bowers was awarded the OHSSAR winner of the 2024- 2025 Enhanced JROTC Competition. He was presented a SAR State Enhanced JROTC neck medal, certificate, and a check for $500 by compatriot Wayne Recknor at the OHSSAR Spring BOM on May 3rd Youth luncheon in Miamisburg, Ohio.

National – the next step was Cadet Mason Bowers winning application was forward to the NSSAR Enhanced JROTC Competition.  We should get results back prior to the 2025 National Congress and will update this post accordingly.

Local – Little Miami High School – Cadet Casey Campbell was the Cincinnati Chapters runner -up in the 2024- 2025 Enhanced JROTC Competition. He was presented a SAR Chapter Enhanced JROTC certificate, and a check for $100.
