Ohio Society CAR State Conference Banquet

On March 15th, President Scott Freeman, wife Kathy, and Past President George Stewart (Ohio Society SAR Historian and Cincinnati Chapter SAR CAR/DAR Liaison) attended the annual Ohio Society Children of the Revolution (CAR) Conference Banquet.  The conference was held in Mason, OH over the weekend of March 14th-16th.

The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution (N.S.C.A.R.) is the nation’s oldest, largest, patriotic youth organization and offers membership to anyone under the age of twenty-two, lineally descended from someone who rendered material aid to the cause of American Independence. N.S.C.A.R. activities focus on patriotism, service, and education about our American heritage.

Ohio Society SAR President Steve Kaplan and first lady, Patty, were also in attendance along with other Ohio Society SAR and DAR officers and members.

Outgoing Ohio Society CAR President Riley Wilkerson of the Fort Washington chapter presided over the event.  A check for over $3,500 was presented to the charitable organization “Harts for Hope”, the beneficiary of the Ohio Society CAR’s fundraising project this past year.  This fundraising effort was supported by the Cincinnati SAR and its members.  The Ohio Society CAR also handed out awards to donors, chapters, and members, and inducted their new officers.
