On Wednesday, June 3rd, 2024 there were three new SAR members inducted into the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (CCSAR).

This General Membership and Board Meeting was held at the Montgomery Inn in downtown Montgomery.

These three new members were presented their Certificates of Membership and pinned with a Rosette which displays the colors of George Washington’s uniform.

The new members are (followed by the name of their patriot ancestor):

• New Member – Vincent John McGeehan, Patriot Ancestor – Benoni Dawson who served with Maryland Militia and gave other Patriotic Service.
• New Member – Patrick Spencer Reagan, Patriot Ancestor – Thomas Watkins who was a Private with the North Carolina Militia.
• New Member – Jared Paul Knab, Patriot Ancestor – Ramoth Bunting who was a Private with New Jersey and was one of the eleven Patriots honored in a Grave Marking Ceremony held by CCSAR in 2015.

Each of these new members took the opportunity to share what they learned about their patriotic ancestor including their service, unique information they learned during their research about them.

We welcome these new members and look forward to helping them learn more about the history of the American Revolution and learn more about their patriot ancestors.

Note that membership in the Sons of the American Revolution requires the completion of ancestry / genealogical research to prove a direct lineal connection of the member to a patriot ancestor who served or provided substantial support to the war effort.
