On Tuesday October 28th, there was a joyous welcome for the veterans who attended the Tri-State Honor Flight from Cincinnati International Airport to Washington DC.

This is a very moving emotional event where veterans are treated to a trip to visit the war monuments for their branch of service.

The plane full of Veterans and their sponsor / care givers leave for DC early in the morning. They tour DC during the day and return to Cincinnati (CVG) around 9:00PM.

Returning Veterans and their sponsor / caregivers are welcomed home from DC
Greeting them home are friends, family, members of the service branches, the public and in our case the SAR and DAR. There were SAR/DAR participants from both the Ohio and Kentucky chapters.

This is the “walk of fame” as Veterans parade past the gathered participants honoring their service
Color Guard members Scott Freeman, Mike Blum, Jerry Knight, and Gary Duffield participated from the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Seeing these veterans arrive, seeing the look of gratitude on their faces for those who came to greet them is really a special experience.

Participants from SAR and DAR await the returning Veterans
Being able to welcome these veteran heroes is a small price to pay to show our gratitude for their service to our country.
We are forever grateful!
