These markers are located at each end of about a one-mile segment of South Erie Blvd. (Rt. 4) in the city of Hamilton.

The Honoree, 1st Sgt. McGinnis, was killed in 2006 during Operation Iraqi Freedom, was a native of Hamilton, OH.

The photos shared were taken by Kathy Freeman, wife of Cincinnati SAR President Scott Freeman.  George Stewart is former President of the CCSAR and the Committee Chairman for the DAR Relations, a partnership between the Cincinnati SAR and DAR chapters.

Ruth Wells, Regent of the John Reily chapter organized and MC’d the event.

The gentleman with glasses in white shirt, beige pants, and blue blazer is Pat Moeller, Mayor of the City of Hamilton, who we were honored to have attend, and provided a very good background on the history, service, and sacrifice of 1st Sgt. McGinnis.

It was a nice day and an excellent way to honor and remember a local hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.   It was a small and short ceremony, but a few cars honked in appreciation as they passed by.

As Mayor Moeller said, as long as we continue to speak his name, he is not forgotten.

To a Patriot who gave his all!
