Compatriots: This is a reminder for the event at the Christian Waldschmidt Homestead, 7567 Glendale Milford Rd, Camp Dennison, OH 45111, on July 18th.

This is an Ohio America 250 event and should be one of our largest public events over the summer. A tentative schedule of events is attached.
The homestead is owned and maintained by the OH Society DAR.
The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (CCSAR)is slated to provided demonstrations from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm.
Plans are similar to what we did at the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra Concert at Montgomery Park on July 3rd, where we had an area set up with flags, information, exhibits, etc..
The highlight of the event will be the Musket and Cannon Firing demonstrations prior to the start of the concert.
Muster time for Color Guard is 1:00 pm to prepare for the demonstrations.
The cannon will be there, and plans are to fire it along with muskets. There is plenty of space and we have fired muskets there before.
However, I will be at the SAR National Congress from July 10-17, returning the evening before, so I will have to rely on the organizers to get the necessary permissions to fire the cannon.
Separate Community Event: Highland County Revolutionary War Memorial ceremony – you can leave the Waldschmidt House about 4:30 pm shortly before the picnic ends and drive straight east about an hour to attend the Highland County Revolutionary War Memorial America 250 Ceremony starting at 6:00 pm at Highland County Court House, 105 N High St, Hillsboro, OH 45133. Color Guard members are encouraged to attend in uniform. A military band concert begins on the Courthouse lawn at 7:00 pm. If you are planning to attend, please let Gary Duffield know and offer to assist in this event.
July 18th – Community Monument dedication ceremony
August 1st – SAR special monument dedication ceremony
Note that the community ceremony open to the public will be on July 18th event will be a community ceremony and unveiling of the Highland County memorial in conjunction with the Highland County America 250 Celebration that weekend.
Separately, the SAR/DAR dedication of the Highland County Memorial in which SAR will participate will be on August 1st.
