Archeological Dig at Mount Vernon Unearths a Sweet Surprise

Recently at the Mount Vernon property of George Washington a team of archeologists unearthed a sweet surprise.

In a corner of the property which was known to have been used as a storeroom, the researchers uncovered a cache of thirty-five jars of 18th century preserves.

Many were completely intact and other than a bit dirty covered appeared to have weather their storage very well.  What a sweet surprise!
