Compatriots,
The Cincinnati Chapter was well recognized at the 2025 National Congress in Connecticut held from Saturday July 12th through Friday July 19th.
Scott Freeman shared the below summary of the awards received on behalf of the Cincinnati Chapter. We commend all those who make our efforts so successful!
The Cincinnati Chapter was awarded three distinguished first place awards in the Large Chapter Category:
- the Ohanesian Award – presented to the Chapter with the most classroom and school presentations,
- the USS Stark Memorial Award – recognizing our Chapter’s service to veterans, and
- the Liberty Bell Americanism – honoring us for the best implementation of SAR programs and principles, i.e., service to the public )
In addition, we also received the President General’s Education Outreach Streamer Award along with many other chapters.
The Ohio Society’s Highlanders chapter won the USS Stark Memorial Award (10-49 members category), and the Camp Charlotte chapter placed 3rd for the Liberty Bell Americanism Award (10-49 members).
These awards will be presented again at the OHSSAR summer meeting on July 26th. These awards will be recognized during our September Meeting.
Congratulations to everyone and thank you all your hard work.
We did not place for the PG Cup this year (service to the SAR). Virginia and (to a lesser extent) North Carolina chapters almost ran the table on that one taking 10 of 12 awards including all size categories and 1st through 3rd place.
In addition to the President General’s Cup, they presented a “President General’s Activities Competition Award”, 1st place to 3rd place, to both states and chapters, the chapter winners being significantly different from either the Liberty Bell or PG Cup. They may have devised a 3rd award from the Americanism Reporting to recognize more chapters.
Anyway, I think our 3 first place finishes in the same year has never been done before by any chapter (the Ohanesian award being relatively new), and if this means our focus and priority is on things external rather than internal.
Congratulations to the Cincinnati Chapter for their continued excellence in living up to the ideals of the Sons of the American Revolution.
