Veterans Day Celebration – Saturday 11/4/2023 – 12 – 3PM

On Saturday November 4th, 2023, the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is having a Veterans Day luncheon in Mason Ohio.

We will have a guest speaker Mr. Frank Wetenkamp – US Navy Veteran who enlisted in the Navy in 1943 at the age of 17.  He served on the USS Lindenwald (LSD-6).  The USS Lindenwald received 5 battle stars for World War II service.

Come join us to celebrate Veterans Day.  If you have a close friend or relative that would like to come, please let us know by completing a RSVP (attached form).

The location is at “The Carriage House”, behind the Manor Hours – the address is 7440 Mason Montgomery Road in Mason OH  45040.

The luncheon is $35.00 per person if you RSVP prior to 10/13/2023 ($40.00 per person after 10/13.

Some information about the USS Lindenwald (LSD-6):

USS Lindenwald was an Ashland-class dock landing ship of the United States Navy, named in honor of Lindenwald, the New York estate of President Martin Van Buren. Lindenwald was authorized as a Mechanized Artillery Transport, APM-6; reclassified LSD-6 on 1 July 1942; laid down 22 February 1943 by Moore Dry Dock Co., Oakland, California; launched on 11 June 1943, sponsored by Mrs. Wilbur M. Lockhart and commissioned on 9 December 1943.
