At 2:00 PM on April 23rd, 2023 there will be a re-dedication of the Revolutionary War Soldier’s Memorial at the Spring Grove Cemetery.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will host this event. All groups with interests of honoring these fallen Patriots are welcome to attend.
This memorial honors 58 known Revolutionary War Patriots who are buried here in the beautiful and serene grounds of the Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum.

We encourage you to drive through the Cemetery before or after the ceremony to take in the amazing park like setting, the extensive collection of trees and bushes (hence the “Arboretum” recognition) and the amazing diversity of markers and tributes to those fallen.
This cemetery which was opened in the 1840’s was a result of local residents seeking to create a memorial park which rivaled those around the world. It is truly a Cincinnati and world class treasure.
We will have the Cincinnati Chapter Sons of the American Revolution – Nolan Carson Color guard dressed in Revolutionary soldiers uniforms honoring these fallen Patriots.

There will be a short ceremony, opened with a presentation of colors (flag presentation), the pledge of allegiance, welcome opening statements, with recognition of each of the 58 patriots along with the ceremonial chiming of a bell for each.

Followed by placing of wreaths to commemorate area Sons, Daughters and Children of the American Revolution organizations.
The Color Guard will conclude the event with a Flintlock (aka “Firelock”) musket salute to honor the fallen.
