Our sister organization, the Highlanders Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is well underway in creating a new monument to recognize and honor the Revolutionary War Patriots.

Highlanders Chapter is led by President – Gary Duffield with significant contributions by Jack Bredenfoerder and Gerold “Buzzard” Wilkin.

The dedication of this monument is planned for July 4th, 2026 which is the 250th anniversary of the founding of our great country.

This monument will be located at the Hillsboro Ohio County Courthouse.

Sponsors of this effort include the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Southern Ohio Genealogical Society (SOGS).

The monument will list the founding fathers of Highland County who were Revolutionary War Patriots who lived, died or are buried in Highland County. This is a rendering of the proposed Revolutionary War Memorial that we plan to build at the Hillsboro, Ohio Courthouse.

It was designed by Gerold Wilkin with rendering designed by Jack Bredenfoerder.

The etching pictures are of early Highland County Patriots.

At this point, there are two-hundred and twenty-one (221) patriots who have been confirmed.
