Flightless Honor Flight – Blue Ash Ohio – Sunday June 8th 2025

On Sunday June 8th at the Blue Ash Campus of Communicare there was a special program for Veterans which occurred on a delightful summer day.

Many may be familiar with the Honor Flights which take veterans to Washington DC to visit their the memorial monument dedicated to their respective branch of military service.

The Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, along with members of the Indiana and Kentucky SAR and DAR always are represented at these events.  These return welcoming events take place at the Greater Cincinnati International Airport (CVG).

For veterans who cannot travel for various reasons, there has been a special program developed to create a more virtual experience for them, to share the best they can in the DC experience.  It is referred to as the “Flightless Honor Flight”.

On Sunday June 8th, this program occurred and was a rousing success.

After participating in the special tribute, these sixty plus veterans were brought outside in a parade like event where friends, family, members of the public and various civic groups could cheer them on.  There were many “thank you for your service” fist bumps, hugs and hand shakes.  Even the smiles on many of these proud men and women were inspiring.

A huge thank you to the groups who came out on that rainy afternoon to participate in the Welcome Home parade at CommuniCare in Blue Ash, Ohio.

What an amazing turn out for our most vulnerable veterans.  The leadership team of the Flightless Honor Flight team truly appreciates all who participated in giving up their  Sunday afternoon to make this a very successful Flightless Honor Flight.
