Cleves History Walk – Sunday September 28th – Trolley / Shuttle Bus available

The Cleves History Walk will begin at 5:30 pm on Sunday September 28th this year.  It involves several sites, and it is not entirely a “walk” as there is a trolley/shuttle bus involved.

Last year, the Cincinnati SAR Color Guard portrayed prisoners of war at the POW Interment camp site.  A link to last years event article with photos is provided below:

This year, the trolley will bring visitors to the POW Interment camp site

Those interested in joining the tour should meet at the old Presbyterian Church, 25 E. State Road in Cleves, OH (next to American Legion).

For SAR members, interested in portraying Lochry’s ill-fated Militia should be at the historical maker, at the site of the POW Interment Camp, 1.2 miles north up E. Miami River Road, near the west (river side of the road) at 5:00 pm.  The address is approximately 4181 E Miami River Rd, Cleves, OH 45002.  There is a sort of vacant lot near the marker and some parking there.

As time permits, our Color Guard members will provide educational information on the difference between the soldiers (Continental Soldiers and more state/local militias).

Come out and participate in this living history event!

Huzzah!
