Cincinnati SAR Presentation to Cincinnati Area Mensa Society

At 5PM on Friday, March 7, 2025 Michael Gunn shared his collection of late 18th Century Artifacts at the annual regional gathering of Cincinnati Area Mensa.

The one hour presentation began early after a few attendees caught a glimpse of the many items laid out in the Diplomat Room of the Doubletree Hotel in Blue Ash.

After the presentation ended, with several of the thirty attendees continuing with specific questions they held until the end of the session.

Mike described and reflected on more than thirty objects utilized in the 18th century around the time of The Revolutionary War.

Mike shared the wide variety of uniforms used during the Revolutionary War conflict

On display were items used during the Revolutionary War time period.  The presentation included clothing mostly by Patriots, utilized at the dinner table, and items used in battle from Drums, whistles and Fifes to spices used in the meals of the time.  Also shared were cannon, rifle & musket balls which provided protection and weapons from the French & Indian War through the Revolution.

Mike Gunn is a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.  Mike is the Grave Marking Chairman of the Chapter and is responsible for hundreds of Patriot grave identification and grave marking ceremonies.  Mike is a past President of the Chapter and a frequent presenter to adult and youth events.
