On Wednesday September 19th there was a special event in Springfield Ohio.
The George Rogers Clark chapter (Springfield Ohio) of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) held a dinner meeting which featured the dynamic duo of Dr. Steve Conrad and Dr. Ed Bonniwell.
Compatriots Bonniwell and Conrad put on a living history event where Dr. Conrad portrayed Brigadier General “Mad” Anthony Wayne in period attire. Dr. Bonniwell made a presentation following months of research about the life, times and events of General Wayne’s life.
Dr. Conrad also spoke for a short time to the group sharing the live, accomplishments and background of General Wayne’s life.
Both these men painstakingly collected as much information, tendencies, and style about General Wayne and worked to incorporate into their presentation. Bonniwell shared that he spent most of the summer researching, reading books, watching videos, reading various articles. Daniel Day Lewis would be proud!
Ed Bonniwell is a key contributor to the Cincinnati SAR Chapter speaker’s bureau which makes cast members available for various 1776 themed presentations. Recently he made a presentation on the Battle of Yorktown. The Cincinnati Chapter has a number of different presentations available for groups.
The Cincinnati Chapter SAR Speakers group is available for presentations within schools, other SAR chapters, DAR/CAR chapters as well as community groups. Please reach out via comments and we can discuss your needs.
We are grateful for the interest of the Springfield Ohio SAR chapter and the contributions of Dr. Bonniwell and Dr. Conrad in making their presentations.
